Getting to know Jess, a co-founder of Resourceful Living

Hi everyone! My name is Jess, and I am one of the co-founders of Resourceful Living… the other co-founder is my amazing husband! But this blog isn’t about him, its about me!

Welcome to our site, and welcome to our blog. I want to give you a bit of insight into Resourceful Living and who I am behind the brand.

Geoff and I have set out on a journey of change, both personally and professionally. We want people to embrace the environment and make more conscious decisions when choosing furniture and other products for their homes.

We have 3 young boys! Our littlest was born on the same day the website launched 1 October 2021!

  • When did you start your business?

Resourceful Living began in May 2021, when it was time to take charge and do something crazy like manufacturing plastic into brand new products.

  • Why did you decide to become a business owner?

I want to make a serious change in the environmental space, and I felt the only way to do that is to form a business where I am the owner.

  • What was your mission at the start of your company?

Provide people with an alternative to cheap chipboard furniture. The recycled plastic idea came from a desire to help the environment and the plastic crisis that is currently happening.

  • How many employees does your company have?

Currently, we have 1 employee plus my husband and myself. We are looking to expand which is very exciting!

  • What products do you offer?

We sell household and office furniture made right here in Newcastle Australia.

  • What are your company’s goals?

To become the largest recycler of plastic in Australia.

  • What made you choose to start a company in this industry?

Our love for the environment and need for education on buying behaviours. The only way to make change is to start the change.
