Benefits for utilising recycled plastic

Pros of buying recycled plastic furniture

We are so excited that you have taken an interest in learning about the pros of purchasing recycled plastic furniture. Now, we know, you may be thinking of kids’ furniture, but seriously our recycled plastic is for adults. Bespoke, handcrafted pieces of furniture made to stand out and create conversation.

We will start with some simple pros, HDPE plastic (the type we use) does not rot, allow mould to grow or deteriorate (unless you leave it in the sun all the time.) Therefore, it is long lasting and safe for the entire family. Purchasing recycled plastic furniture is a great alternative to cheap chipboard/particle board that overtime the laminate peels and the product starts to collapse.

At Resourceful Living we have an abundance of colours that we use in all our products, so you can find a colour that suits your home or business. We source all our recycled plastic from across New South Wales and Victoria, making sure that we handcraft products using Aussie plastic. Who knows, one of our products could easily have your shampoo bottle inside! None of the products are painted, which is excellent for our customers as it means there is zero upkeep with the furniture.

On an environmental side, for us we believe using a material that have already been created means we are giving plastic a new life rather than just letting it break down into microplastics over hundreds of years. It creates a healthy demand for plastic and begins to change people’s outlook on recycling and in turn makes people put more of a conscious effort into recycling.

All our products are engraved with the amount of plastic that they have used. This is to showcase to the public; how much can be saved from landfill when making conscious environmental decisions with our furniture.

Lastly, one of the best parts about using recycled plastic, is each piece of furniture has its own character and colour. You know when it enters your home or office, it is already telling a story from a previous life. Who doesn’t love giving second chances?!
