ReMade in Australia

We were so excited to hear of the new ReMade in Australia Campaign. Linked is the media release from the Australian Prime Minister on December 6th 2021 regarding the government’s commitment to limiting waste and to encourage us all to buy recycled. You can read the entire media release.

There have been many documentaries around our lack of recycling and sometimes it can feel like doing the right thing doesn’t matter. Big business just hides everything and really “what is the point?” Well, ReMade in Australia is challenging our thoughts and encouraging us to make changes in our own homes and businesses when it comes to recycling.

Is it remade in Australia at Resourceful Living?

Here at Resourceful Living, we began making our products out of a pure passion for the environment and limiting the amount of plastic that is just being thrown away. We are super proud of our ability to recycle plastic and create it into brand “new” products. This gives plastic bottles a new life and a product that can be used over and over again. All our serving boards are hard wearing and suitable from indoors to outdoors. View our range of recycled plastic products and feel good with your purchase. Feel good about your purchase and help the environment.

For the most part, we use HDPE (2) and LDPE (4) plastics when creating our products, however, we are always on the lookout for incorporating other plastics. We never add anything to our plastic, so when you are finished with our product, bring it back to us and we will shred it and make it into something new again. Our colours are also limited as that is due to what people throw away.

Our goal at Resourceful Living is to end up doing the entire recycling process and to come up with new and innovative ways of using plastic. We also are determined to bring back manufacturing to Newcastle and we are looking to employ locals to help recycle waste into products. Keep a lookout for our DIY range coming in 2022.

Since waste is such an important topic the Government has announced:

National Waste Policy Action Plan

Aiming to reduce total waste generated in Australia by 10% per person and achieve an 80% average recovery rate from all waste streams by 2030.

Together we can take important action by changing our mindset that waste is a resource. We have so much plastic, instead of creating new, let us use recycled. Are you ready?!
